Journalist Mansoor Ali Khan has claimed that Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal ended her relationship with PML-N Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Saqib Chadhar after discovering he was already married.

Mansoor Ali Khan took up the story on his Instagram account, citing sources close to Momina to talk about the background of the dispute.

“According to my information, sources close to Momina Iqbal provided me with details, and I am now presenting their version before you. If the MPA wishes to present his version, he is free to do so, but so far his side has not come forward,” he said.

Khan said that sources close to Momina told him the two had been in contact since 2022 and began interacting regularly.

“The MPA eventually expressed his desire to marry her, and a family gathering took place where both sides reached a formal understanding over the marriage,” he narrated.

It was around this time that Momina discovered that the MPA was already married.

“She had been told his first marriage was practically over and only legal matters remained to be formalised, with election-related complications offered as the reason he avoided going into further details. Once she found out, she ended the relationship,” Khan said, citing the sources.

As tensions rose, the MPA reportedly questioned why things were not moving forward. “When he learnt Momina was planning to marry someone else, the situation escalated and threats followed,” he added. Khan was clear throughout that this was one side of the story. “I am repeating that this is her side of the story,” he stressed.

Momina later thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the response. “I appreciate Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for taking immediate action, assigning the case to the relevant authorities, and providing me and my family with immediate and comprehensive security,” she wrote.

On Wednesday, Momina accused a PML-N MPA of prolonged online harassment, cyberbullying and death threats in an Instagram story, stopping short of naming anyone publicly. “I request everyone not to blame anyone until my official statement is recorded,” she wrote.

His name came out after both parties appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore on Thursday.

Momina, accompanied by her legal team, submitted digital evidence including alleged threatening messages and recorded her statement. The questioning continued for several hours, after which she left through a back exit. Chadhar later appeared with his legal team as well.

Momina’s lawyer told reporters outside that her wedding is scheduled for June 1 and will go ahead as planned. The lawyer said that NCCIA officers gave a positive response during proceedings and that all documentary evidence had been submitted.
