Actress Momina Iqbal has hit back at cleric Nasir Madni after a video showed him questioning her allegations against lawmaker Saqib Chadhar.

In a video of a recent sermon, Madni was seen questioning Momina’s allegations against Chadhar, claiming she had received money, gifts, mobile phones and other financial support from the lawmaker over the years.

He argued that she could not accuse him of wrongdoing after benefiting from him for so long, and that responsibility in the matter did not lie with one side alone.

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a statement expressing anger over the comments directed at her and stressed that only she and Allah know the truth behind the claims circulating against her.

“I may win this case in the courts of this world and the Hereafter, but you will lose it in the court of Allah,” she wrote, adding that she would not forgive him for what she described as an unjust attack on her character.

Momina reminded her followers that Islam strictly forbids making accusations without proof, citing Surah An-Nur that warns against slandering chaste individuals without presenting evidence.

In a separate story, she questioned how someone who mocks and humiliates a woman could claim to represent Islamic values.

“This man should not have the right to represent Islam while laughing at and ridiculing a woman’s honour,” she wrote.

“I request everyone to hold him accountable and ask on what basis, evidence or testimony my name was discussed in such a manner before an audience.”

The actress also said she is confident she will clear her name both legally and morally, and that those who make accusations without evidence will be held accountable.

The controversy follows Momina’s decision to approach the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), alleging she had been subjected to sustained online harassment and intimidation by ruling party MPA Chadhar.

The NCCIA registered a case under Sections 3, 4, 21 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), read with Sections 506, 201, 34 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), after she submitted digital evidence including alleged threatening messages against her and her family.

Chadhar is alleged to have turned abusive after Momina turned down his marriage proposal upon discovering he was already married. A Lahore court has since granted him interim pre-arrest bail, with the NCCIA barred from arresting him until June 24.
