Veteran Pakistani actress Atiqa Odho has revealed that her son Bilal played a key role in encouraging her to marry for the third time, while her mother and daughters were both against the decision.

The actress revealed the details during a recent interview where discussing drama serial “Kafeel”, saying that she saw similarities between her son and the character Subuk.

Odho shared that after the failure of her second marriage, her son approached her and encouraged her to move forward with Samar Ali Khan.

“When I was alone and hadn’t married Samar Ali Khan, my son came to me and said, ‘You should marry him.’ It was my son who encouraged me to marry for the third time,” she said.

Her mother strongly opposed the idea, viewing a third marriage as socially unacceptable.

“My mother also said that people would make fun of me for getting married again. But my son said, ‘It’s better that you get married because you’ve seen many ups and downs, and you’ve been alone for a long time,'” Odho recalled.

Bilal also vouched for Khan’s character. “My son said, ‘I really hope you settle down with him. He is a very good man, and he truly loves you, so you should marry him,'” she revealed.

Odho said that she hesitated because her daughters were also opposed to the idea. “Then I said, ‘But what about your sisters? Because my daughters are very fiery.” Bilal stepped up and took responsibility.

“My son said, ‘Don’t worry, I will help.’ So Bilal, my son, took it upon himself to convince his sisters,” she added.

Odho also recalled that her first marriage took place when she was only 15 years old and lasted for 10 years. Her second marriage, which she entered by choice, also did not work out.

She married Samar Ali Khan in June 2012. Khan later served as a member of the Sindh Assembly from 2013 to 2018.
