Actor Humayun Saeed has revealed that his wife Samina Humayun Saeed was once possessive and hesitant about his decision to pursue acting.
Speaking on a YouTube podcast, he shared details from the early years of his career and how his wife reacted to his entry into the entertainment industry.
Responding to a question about fan attention, he said, “Actually, in the very beginning, Samina was quite possessive. She used to stop me a bit, like telling me not to stay in this field and instead do some other business or work. When it came to working with women, she would say things like, ‘Just don’t hold hands.’”
He said her concerns changed over time as she met people from the industry.
“We used to be on set and everything, but later what happened was that I worked with some really good actresses in the beginning—Sania Saeed, Nadia Jamil, and Sonia Rehman. When Samina met them, and also met directors like Marina Khan, she realised that it’s not like what she used to think. There are genuinely good people in this field,” he said.
Humayun Saeed married Samina Humayun Saeed in 1995, and the couple does not have any children.
Humayun Saeed is one of Pakistan’s most established television and film actors. He is known for popular dramas including Dillagi, Mere Paas Tum Ho and Bin Roye, and has also produced several successful film projects through his production work.
