Nadia Hussain records statement at FIA cyber crime office over fraud call case
Actress Nadia Hussain appeared at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Karachi office on Monday to record her statement.
She was summoned by the FIA Cyber Crime Wing in connection with a fraud call she received in the past few days.
Nadia Hussain apologized while providing her detailed statement to the investigators.
"I had filed an online complaint about the fraud call but did not know that despite the online complaint, I had to appear in person," she explained, adding that she had now recorded her statement.
She also confirmed that FIA officials had taken her mobile phone for forensic examination but stated, "I have no objection to it."
Speaking to the media, she said, "I apologize if my video message has offended any FIA officer."
Nadia Hussain had recently claimed that she received a fake call on WhatsApp from someone posing as an FIA officer following her husband's arrest.
Earlier, The Corporate Crime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested supermodel Nadia Hussain’s husband Atif Khan during a raid at their residence in DHA Phase 6 in Karachi.
According to reports, Atif Khan is involved in a fraud case exceeding Rs 540 million. He has been accused of corporate financial fraud following a complaint by the Group Head of a private bank’s securities division.
Atif Khan, the former CEO of the bank’s securities division, allegedly misused bank funds for personal business ventures. To conceal financial mismanagement, he reportedly tampered with company records.
Reports indicate that Atif “prepared fake financial statements and other forged documents to execute large-scale fraud.”
The FIA has obtained a two-day remand for further investigation.
