Pakistani host and actress Nadia Khan has rejected comments by actor-producer Saud Qasmi and accused him of making up stories about her.
She also criticised Vasay Chaudhry, who hosts the show where Saud spoke up.
Saud appeared on Gup Shab recently and spoke about what he called a growing trend of celebrities disrespecting each other on television. He named Nadia during the conversation and accused her of asking controversial questions and adding to disputes in the entertainment industry.
He pointed to a recent question Nadia asked the daughter of designer Amir Adnan and said television hosts should not ask such questions. He also raised an old controversy involving Humayun Saeed and Atiqa Odho, claiming Nadia’s remarks had contributed to their dispute.
Saud said controversies in the industry usually fade after a few days and nobody should fuel them unnecessarily. He added that people in the industry get along well, and he suggested television programmes should avoid stirring up such matters.
Nadia replied in an Instagram story with a sarcastic tone. She suggested Saud had forgotten his script. “Guys, please go easy on the poor soul-it’s not his fault his memory failed and he completely forgot the script!”
She claimed his plan had backfired and that his own comment section was paying for it.
“Inventing fake stories just backfired, and his own comment section is paying the price. Stop embarrassing yourself Saud,” she advised.
Nadia then questioned why he would bring up his own past and remind people of money he owes to senior actors. “Why bring your own dirty linen and refresh memories of payments u still owe senior actors!!”
“And trust me this attention at my mention will only get u fame for 2 days … phir kya karo gay Saud,” she asked.
In a separate Instagram story, Nadia addressed Vasay directly. She accused him of using her name to please his friends and said that would not help his show’s ratings.
“Dear Vasay Chaudhry Using my name to please your friends won’t save your ratings,” she began, before praising Imran Ashraf and his show Mazaq Raat, saying that viewers had a reason to watch it. “There’s a reason everyone is watching Imran Ashraf’s Mazaak Raat-actual charm and zero desperation,” she stated.
Nadia has faced plenty of criticism in her career, especially when she drew backlash from fans and industry figures, including Maya Ali, Saba Faisal and screenwriter Saima Akram Chaudhry, after she mimicked Sajal Aly’s performance in the drama Zanjeerain.
