Nadia Khan sparks controversy claiming Halaala centres are ‘common’
Senior actress Nadia Khan has claimed that Halaala centers have been established in various cities across the Pakistan, including Karachi, the capital of Sindh, adding that these centers are being advertised online.
On the TV show ‘Kya Drama Hai,’ Nadia praised the portrayal of Halaala scenes in the drama ‘Mann Jogi,’ stating that it addresses an important social issue which was depicted very well.
“Halaala is an important issue, and Halaala centers have been established across the country,” she said.
During the program, she read out advertisements from Halaala centers found on social media and expressed concern over how this important practice is being misused.
“Some Halaala centres claim they handle everything, from nikah to divorce, in a friendly and confidential manner, encouraging women seeking Halaala to contact them confidently,” she highlighted.
“I saw more than a dozen online advertisements for Halaala centers in Karachi alone, providing complete addresses, phone numbers, and other details,” she claimed, further stating that “Halaala centers are operating openly in various cities, with regular addresses provided for these centers.”
She expressed surprise that such a sensitive matter is being conducted so openly and that those running these centers seem to have no fear.
She also raised a question: “How can such people justify helping others by establishing and promoting Halaala centers?”
