Actress Naeema Butt has clarified the context behind her earlier comments about the cast of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, saying that her words were shaped by a deeply personal loss she experienced during the project.

Speaking during a recent television appearance, Naeema said that she did not face any serious problems on set. However, she explained that her emotional state at the time influenced how she viewed certain situations.

“I personally didn’t face any serious problem,” she said, before adding context to her earlier remarks.

Responding to a question about why she appeared disappointed with the industry, she revealed that she went through a traumatic personal loss during the drama’s shoot.

“At that time, during the shooting, something happened in my personal life which was very traumatic. I lost someone, and it was very hard,” she shared.

Naeema said she had to travel to New York for a funeral but returned soon after because the shoot was incomplete.

“I still came back. I had to attend the funeral, and then I had to return. I don’t want to go into detail because I will get emotional. But I came back because I was called back. The drama wasn’t complete, the shoot was still pending. And I am a professional, so I came and finished the shoot,” she said.

The actress explained that by the time filming wrapped, she was still grieving and dealing with what she described as the most traumatic event of her life. She expected support from people she considered friends but felt disappointed by what followed.

“I was expecting that my friends would stand by me. I’m talking about what happened afterwards, not on the set,” she said.

She added that although everything appeared fine during filming, things changed later when her character started gaining popularity and she began receiving invitations for public appearances.

“Since I was already grieving, I thought my producers and co-actors would support me. But some things happened that really shocked me,” she said.

While Naeema did not name anyone, she hinted at tensions with fellow cast members, which has fueled fan speculation online. She claimed that during public events, some co-stars who appeared friendly on social media behaved differently in person.

“There were even situations where I was told not to come on stage. It felt like I was being pushed away,” she said.

“A lot of things happened but I don’t want to get into it,” she added, choosing not to share further details.

Despite the experience, Naeema said it helped her grow.

“That was very disappointing and disheartening. But it opened my eyes. Alhamdulillah, now I am ready. I don’t expect anything from anyone anymore,” she said.

Earlier, in an interview with Vasay Chaudhry, Naeema had spoken about what she described as superficial friendships in the entertainment industry. She said many relationships appeared genuine on Instagram but felt different in reality.

“I have seen that people are just being fake friends for Instagram, or at least that is what my experience was,” she had said.

She also admitted that she initially believed the appreciation from co-actors on social media reflected real support, but later realised her assumption was misplaced.

During a separate interview, she said that she does not want to be part of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.

Despite the off-screen issues, Naeema continues to receive strong praise from fans, especially for her performance as Rubab in the drama.

The actress was also recently seen in the film Bullah, starring Shaan Shahid, which released on Eid ul Fitr.
