Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh recently shared an incident from the past, where he was detained at a New York airport by authorities who refused to believe he was Indian.
In an interview with an Indian media outlet, the 43-year-old actor recalled, "I had his Indian passport with me, but still, the authorities did not believe me. The airport officials kept asking me continuous questions, but they didn't give me a chance to clarify."
When asked how he managed to handle the situation, Neil said, "Four hours passed, and the airport officials asked me what I had to say. I told them, 'Just Google my name.'"
He continued, "After that, they became so embarrassed that they started asking questions about my grandfather and father."
Neil's father, Nitin Mukesh, is also a well-known singer. He was last seen in the comedy-action film Hisaab Barabar in 2024, directed by Ashwini Dhir, where he starred alongside R. Madhavan, Kirti Kulhari, Rashmi Desai, and Faisal Rashid.
