Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu has said that he is “in excellent physical condition” after his annual medical report revealed that doctors had removed an early-stage malignant tumour.
In a post on X on Friday, Netanyahu stated that the tumour was discovered during routine medical monitoring following surgery for an enlarged benign prostate.
He said that doctors identified the cancer at an early stage and that treatment had “removed the problem and left no trace of it”.
The 76-year-old wanted war-criminal added that he had asked for the release of his medical report to be delayed so it would not coincide with the height of the US-Israel war with Iran, claiming he wanted to prevent Tehran from using his health condition for what he called “false propaganda against Israel”.
Netanyahu said that he first underwent surgery for an enlarged benign prostate in 2024 and had remained under regular medical observation since then. During his latest check-up, doctors found what he described as “a tiny spot of less than a centimetre”.
“I had a minor medical issue with my prostate that was completely treated. Thank God, it’s behind me,” he wrote.
In the same statement, Netanyahu said that he decided to proceed with treatment immediately because he believed in addressing risks without delay.
“This is true on the national level and also on the personal level,” the man wanted by ICC said.
The disclosure comes as Netanyahu is expected to visit the White House in the coming weeks while the US (United States) pushes for a long-term agreement following the conflict with Iran.
At the same time, Israel’s ceasefire arrangement with Lebanon, after fighting involving Iran-backed Hezbollah, has been extended by three weeks.
