Social media users are praising the residents of Ghotki and neighbouring areas for serving food, water and other essentials to the stranded passengers after the Ghotki train incident.

At least 62 passengers lost their lives while more than 100 others have been injured when two express trains collided on Monday in Sindh’s Ghotki.

Railways operations were badly affected by the accident throughout the country. The authorities stopped trains at different railway stations for several hours.

The rescue and relief operation has been completed while the track has been restored after 29 hours.

The rescue operation was completed after the track has been cleared, retrieving the 17 coaches that had been affected by the crash and the engine of the train. Trains that were not operational since Sunday can now resume their operations, officials said.
