Islamabad Police has assigned the look-after charge of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation to PSP Grade-18 officer Suleman Zaffar with immediate effect, according to an official notification issued by the Office of the Inspector General of Police.

The notification, dated August 4, 2026, states that Zaffar will perform the duties of SSP Investigation (OPS) until further orders while continuing to hold his existing assignments.

Zaffar is currently serving as SSP Security and Administration (Operations). He also holds the additional charge of SSP Capital Patrols and is performing the look-after duties of SP Operations Command Unit (OCU), SP Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU), and SP Law and Order and ARF.

The latest order adds the responsibility of overseeing the SSP Investigation office to his existing portfolio. A look-after charge is a temporary administrative arrangement under which an officer performs the duties of another post until a permanent appointment is made.

No reason for the additional assignment or indication of its duration was provided in the notification beyond stating that it will remain in effect until further orders.
