Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar met Pakistan’s One-Day International (ODI) captain Shaheen Afridi and held a detailed discussion with him.

Tarar said that Shaheen’s services to Pakistan cricket deserve praise. He said that Shaheen always shows determination and dedication when he plays for the national team.

Tarar also shared a video of the meeting on X writing, “Honoured to meet @iShaheenAfridi today. It was a heartfelt conversation. I appreciated his services to Pakistan and the dedication he brings to the national team every time he represents the country. Wishing him continued success ahead.”

Shaheen, who has been left out of the Sri Lanka T20I squad, has been named in the ODI squad for the seven-match tri-series against England and Sri Lanka. He will continue as captain.

Rawalpindi will host the opening three matches, while the remaining league matches and the final will take place in Lahore.

Pakistan appointed Shaheen as ODI captain in November 2025, replacing Mohammad Rizwan.
