At least 117 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shaban and other law enforcement operations across Balochistan since July 5, according to security officials, as authorities said the ongoing offensive would continue until all militants in the province are neutralised.

The latest figures include 76 militants killed specifically under Operation Shaban, a joint operation involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) and Balochistan Police. Security sources said the remaining deaths occurred during separate intelligence-based and law enforcement operations conducted across the province over the same period.

On Monday, security officials confirmed that five more terrorists were killed during fresh operations, taking the total number of militants eliminated in Operation Shaban to 76. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the dead militants, including M4 rifles, submachine guns, rocket launchers, mobile phones and other equipment.

Security officials said the operation is targeting what they described as India-backed terrorist networks through coordinated air and ground operations. They maintained that the campaign would continue until the last militant is eliminated.

Operation Shaban was launched following the deadly attack on the Mangi Dam police station in Ziarat, one of three recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan that left 42 people, including security personnel and civilians, martyred.

The operation comes amid a broader rise in militant violence in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.

Pakistan has since intensified cross-border counterterrorism efforts under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, while repeatedly urging the Afghan Taliban administration to take action against militant groups allegedly operating from Afghan territory. Despite several rounds of talks, the two sides have yet to reach an agreement on the issue.
