A Pakistan Army cadet has claimed the title of overall best foreign military cadet at Australia’s Royal Military College (RMC) in Canberra, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported Wednesday.

Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas of PMA 152 Long Course received the honour at the RMC Duntroon passing out parade on May 5, recognising him as the highest performing foreign military cadet across all areas of training.

“This is a testament to the highest standards of professionalism, commitment and excellence demonstrated by the junior leadership of the Pakistan Army,” ISPR said.

Earlier, Australian Chief of Army Lieutenant General Simon Stuart reviewed the commissioning parade, with members of the diplomatic corps, including the Pakistani High Commissioner in Canberra, families of graduating cadets and Australian Defence Force officials in attendance.

Wednesday’s recognition marked the 14th time a Pakistan Army cadet has earned the title at the institution. Since 2009, 46 Pakistan Army cadets have graduated from RMC Duntroon, while seven Pakistani officers have served on the college’s faculty as platoon commanders since 2013.

Among the previous recipients stands Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria, who embraced martyrdom on September 4, 2020, in North Waziristan. His name also sits on a memorial stone at the RMC parade ground.
