The India team has produced a statement performance, crushing Pakistan 19-0 in the quarter-final of the 2026 Women’s Hockey Junior Asia Cup in China.

India, coached by Tim White, controlled the match from the start. They kept the pressure on the Pakistani side, with the first goal coming in the seventh minute through Puja Sahoo.

Roshni Aind doubled the lead two minutes later.

The Indian side went on to score another 10 goals in the first half and added nine more before the final whistle. Pooja Malik scored a hat-trick while Roshni Aind, Sanika Chandrakant Mane, Madhu Sidar and Supriya contributed two goals each to the scoresheet.

The Pakistani team had no answer for the arch-rivals throughout the contest.

The victory sends India into the semi-finals of the tournament and keeps their hopes of a three-peat alive as the Women in Blue have won two editions of the tournament in 2023 and 2024.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s appearance in the tournament marked their return to the competition for the first time since 2012.

With two successive championships already secured, India go into the semi-finals as one of the strongest contenders for another gold medal.
