Pakistan’s Under-15 team has recorded a 6-1 victory over Tonga at the FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival Azerbaijan 2026. The result gave the team its first win at the tournament and marked a landmark moment for Pakistan football.

The win followed a strong double-header in which Pakistan held two highly regarded opponents, Jordan and Nigeria, to 1-1 draws, earning the team its first two points of the tournament.

The FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival is a new event, with Azerbaijan hosting the first edition from October 22 to 31, 2026. Baku hosts matches at venues including the Hovsan Competition Complex. FIFA brought together 189 national associations, while players born in 2011 or 2012 take part in it.

Organisers expect more than 3,000 young players, coaches and officials. Teams compete in six performance tiers, and the team that finishes on top of Tier A becomes the champion.

Pakistan is taking part in a FIFA World Cup event for the first time. Head coach Ihsanullah Khan named a 14-member squad for the trip, and the team played five qualification-stage matches in three days.
