Pakistan reaches semis of SAFF Under-17 Football Championship

Pakistan has qualified for the semi-finals of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-17 Football Championship 2024 by defeating Sri Lanka five to one.

Pakistan took an early lead in the 20th minute when Subhan Karim scored a fine goal to give the team a 1-0 lead over Sri Lanka, followed by another superb goal by Mohammad Talha in the 30th minute.

Pakistan’s third goal came in the 36th minute from Subhan Karim, who further cemented the team’s lead. At half-time, Pakistan had a clear lead of 3-0.

At the beginning of the second half, the pressure on the Sri Lankan team increased, and Sri Lanka’s own goal further increased the lead by 4-0. In the 56th minute, Abdul Ghani scored a wonderful goal to make Pakistan’s score 5-0.

The Sri Lankan team scored their first and only goal in the 76th minute of the game but could not resist much in the face of Pakistan’s strong performance, with this resounding victory, Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals of the event.

Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the semi finals on September 28.
