Pakistan continued their strong start at the 20th Asian Games in Japan, picking up wins in both hockey and kabaddi on the same day.
In hockey, Pakistan beat Uzbekistan 5-1 in their second group-stage fixture. The win came after Pakistan opened their campaign with a dominant 9-0 victory over Thailand.
Pakistan’s kabaddi team also kept up their winning momentum, defeating Nepal 58-43 in a hard-fought contest to secure their second consecutive victory at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
The kabaddi side had begun their campaign in commanding fashion on Monday. In their Group B fixture at the Tokai Citizen Gymnasium, Pakistan dismantled Malaysia 65-22. The team raced to a 38-11 lead by half-time before adding 27 more points in the second period.
Pakistan also recorded 10 all-out points during the dominant display against Malaysia.
Earlier, Pakistan claimed its first medal at the 2026 Asian Games after Karachi-based mixed martial artist Asim Khan secured bronze in his event.
The second medal came after the Pakistan women’s cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 31 runs to clinch bronze.
