Pakistan has refused to comment on the ongoing student protests of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in India calling it India’s “internal matter”.

Spokesperson for Pakistan’s foreign office Tahir Andrabi during a routine press conference on Thursday refused to comment on the escalating clashes between student protesters and the Indian state apparatus.

During the press conference a journalist asked the spokesperson for comments on the precarious situation that has jolted India, noting: “We have seen the latest protest of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in India. The Indian administration is dealing with them harshly, do you think that these are human rights violations?”

Andrabi refused to comment on the situation, noting: “This essentially is an internal matter of India, we do not offer comments on that.”

Massive student demonstrations have erupted across India demanding education reforms and the immediate resignation of Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan. The widespread outrage intensified after 12 student suicides followed a controversial NEET exam leak, compounding prevailing public anger.

The unrest escalated sharply in New Delhi after prominent social activist Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly removed from Jantar Mantar on the 21st day of his hunger strike, culminating in violent clashes on June 20 where police deployed brutal force against demonstrating students.

The CJP on Thursday has called for a nationwide peaceful protest to be held on July 24, Friday, despite Prime Minister Modi reassuring the students of fair investigations in an unexpected video message late in the night.
