Apr 10

Pakistan's women's national football team opened their FIFA Series 2026 campaign with an 8-0 thrashing of Turks and Caicos Islands in Côte d'Ivoire, recording the biggest win in the country's international football history.

The result surpassed Pakistan's previous record victory, a 7-0 win over the Maldives in September 2022, played out on the occasion of their first-ever appearance at a FIFA event.

Pakistan controlled the match from the opening whistle and showed no signs of nerves on the historic occasion. Aqsa Mushtaq and Layla Banaras each scored twice, while Zahmena Malik, Mariam Mahmood, Nadia Khan and Isra Khan all added goals of their own to complete a dominant team performance.

Pakistan now faces Mauritania on April 12 before taking on hosts Côte d'Ivoire on April 16.
