Pakistani music duo Afusic and Ali Soomro’s viral smash hit song ‘Pal Pal’ has been remixed by British producer and DJ Fred Again.

Fred Again played the remix during a livestream with Mexican band Latin Mafia. The Grammy-winning DJ used the version of the track that the Pakistani artists created alongside Indian musician Talwiinder.

Afusic, whose real name is Affan Khan, and Soomro posted clips from the DJ’s livestream on Instagram on Thursday. The creators stated that the track grew into something larger than themselves.

Soomro shared the background behind the track in the Instagram caption, stating that the duo created the project after work shifts and personal commitments.

“We made this song purely out of love. We just wanted to make something we believed in and let the world hear it,” Soomro wrote.

He recalled late-night studio sessions following their regular jobs.

“I still remember Afusic coming to the studio late at night after work, and I’d already be there, excited because we were about to create something together,” Soomro stated.

The musician credited producer Abdullah Kasumbi for guiding the duo during the initial stage of their music careers. “He believed in us, gave us direction and made sure our potential didn’t go to waste. His mentorship played a huge role in helping us grow,” Soomro wrote.

He acknowledged Talwiinder for joining the project, thanking the Indian artist for trusting the track and adding his style to the collaboration.

Soomro reflected on the international response following the remix by the British DJ. “Seeing Fred put his own twist on the track made me realise how small the world really is,” Soomro wrote.

‘Pal Pal’ gained wide streaming traction when it was released last year. The release pushed Afusic and Soomro to the eighth and ninth spots on the list of most-streamed artists on Spotify in Pakistan. Data shows that the track is the second most streamed song in Pakistan over the last five years.
