Indian anchor and journalist Arnab Goswami was called out on his own show for airing a couple of videos to make misleading claims about Pakistan.

As per the details, Goswami aired visuals of what he called “Pakistani Rangers crouching behind trees” while carrying a rocket launcher. Pakistani journalist Raja Faisal, who was appearing on the show as a guest, pointed out that the visuals actually showed a Balochistan Police officer in Ziarat.

This was followed by Goswami airing another undated video showing military or paramilitary personnel at an unknown location, making claims regarding their conduct, which also turned out to be fake.

Goswami claimed the visuals showed “a number of Pakistani Rangers threatening a man”, adding that the man was “carried away after that”, to which Faisal pointed out that it wasn’t even Rangers uniform.

The fake videos came up during a wider debate on Republic TV regarding the situation in Balochistan, where Indian media outlets have claimed that protesters are being fired upon and that there is widespread hatred against Pakistan on the ground.

Earlier, Faisal, on reports of widespread protests, told the Indian anchor that protesters came to the venue every day and went back home every night.

“The next morning, they come back again,” he said, adding that numbers vary on a daily basis, which showed that people were free to come and go without restriction.

He also bashed Indian claims of violence against the protesters, saying that nobody was firing on the demonstrators and that people were out because they had political demands.

He also gave a shut-up call to the Indian panellists, revealing that the protesters had recently written a letter to Field Marshal Asim Munir, which showed that they trusted his leadership.
