Pakistan’s Abdul Rehman has won the men’s Poligras Magic Skill Award after hockey fans around the world voted his goal against Wales as their favourite skill moment of the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup.
Rehman produced a dazzling display of 3D skills during the match, controlling the ball in the air before weaving past four defenders to score. The goal earned him 44 percent of the global fan vote, putting him ahead of South Africa’s Kenton Melville, who finished second with 39 percent.
The International Hockey Federation ran the fan vote from September 4 to 13. Six moments made the shortlist, three from the men’s tournament and three from the women’s competition. Alongside Rehman and Melville, France’s Eliot Curty was also nominated on the men’s side for a goal scored from an impossible angle.
In the women’s category, India’s goalkeeper Bichu Devi Karibam won with 52 percent of the vote for a reflex save late in her side’s match against England. She had been shortlisted alongside Belgium’s Judith Vandermeiren and Germany’s Yani Zhong.
The Poligras Magic Skill Award is presented by FIH global supplier Polytan and recognises standout moments of skill and creativity from the tournament.
The 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup was held across the Netherlands and Belgium and concluded on August 30.
