Pakistan’s film industry is set to release its first-ever space-themed telefilm, Jahan Aur Bhi Hain — a story that blends science, emotion, and pressing environmental themes.
The premiere took place at the Institute of Space Technology (IST) in Islamabad, where lead actors Amna Ilyas and Daniyal Raheel appeared alongside prominent figures from the film industry.
Jahan Aur Bhi Hain tells the story of a science professor who returns to her native village after years of research. During her stay, she predicts a natural disaster and takes practical steps to prevent it, highlighting the critical need for scientific awareness and action on climate change.
Amna Ilyas, who plays the lead scientist, shared her thoughts at the premiere: “It’s an honour to be part of a project that focuses on such meaningful issues through the lens of science fiction.”
Advanced technology and impressive special visual effects have been used to create a realistic portrayal of the space environment, enhancing the storytelling with a modern cinematic touch.
Produced by the National Centre of GIS and Space Applications, Institute of Space Technology, the telefilm is a result of a unique collaboration with Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore, and LockDown Productions. This partnership brings together academia and industry to create a film that combines creative storytelling with science communication.
Jahan Aur Bhi Hain will be released on June 5, 2025.
