PCB proposes three cities for Champions Trophy hosting

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed the names of three cities to host International Cricket Council (ICC) for Champions Trophy 2025.

Among the cities recommended by PCB are Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi.

While addressing a press conference in Lahore on Sunday, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, “We have sent the schedule of Champions Trophy matches to ICC. The security team of ICC had come to Pakistan with whom we had a very good meeting, they had reviewed the arrangements regarding the matches in Pakistan. We will also share the plan for the upgradation of the stadiums with them soon.”

Mohsin Naqvi said, “We are in constant touch with the ICC and we are trying to ensure that we can improve the organization of the tournament in Pakistan.”

Talking about India’s participation in Champion Trophy, he said, “In discussing the schedule of the Champions Trophy, the matter related to India’s participation in this tournament will also be considered.”

According to ESPNCricinfo, the initial draft of the schedule includes all matches, including India’s matches in Pakistan. Usually when the host country sends the draft schedule to the ICC, the schedule is finalized after changes by the cricket boards of the participating teams.

The Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan after 30 years, start from mid-February next year, for which the PCB has started upgrading its grounds.
