Renowned actress Maya Ali has revealed that she is often taunted for being unmarried, especially after her younger brother got married.

Maya recently appeared on Nida Yasir’s Ramzan show with her cousins and family, where she openly talked about her childhood memories and personal life.

When asked about marriage, she said: "I believe that whatever is written in my destiny will happen." She added, "As Muslims, we believe that everything is already written for us, so why don’t people apply the same belief to marriage? Why don’t they understand that marriage will happen when it’s destined?"

She further revealed that people often taunt her for being unmarried. "People say, ‘Your younger brother is married, why aren’t you?’ But what can I do? It will happen when it’s meant to happen."

She made it clear that she won’t marry just for the sake of it, stating: "I will only get married when I find someone I truly like and feel a connection with."

Talking about relationships, Maya shared: "With age, a person becomes more realistic. The fever of love also subsides. So, when I feel that a good person has entered my life, I will get married."

She also revealed that her mother prays for her marriage in every prayer but added: "I can’t convince my elders that I won’t get married just for show."

Maya Ali emphasised that she would like to marry someone who understands and values her career while also respecting her family, especially her mother.

"I will marry a person who understands the importance of a woman and her work, as well as supports her. That is the right of every woman," she said.

Clarifying rumours, she stated: "I have not set any deadline or time for marriage. When I find the right person, and my heart tells me it’s time, only then will I get married—and no one will even know until then!"
