The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has rejected reports regarding the transfer of former Prime Minister Imran Khan to the facility.

An increase in security deployments around the hospital premises in Islamabad late Thursday night led to widespread speculation on social media and television channels, with reports suggesting that Khan, who remains incarcerated at Adiala Jail, was being brought to the hospital for an eye checkup.

The administration of the medical institute released a statement to clarify the situation and stop the spread of unverified information.

“Hospital shares official and authentic information and the media should not spread rumours without confirmation,” stated PIMS spokesperson Dr Aneeza Jalil.

While the official management denied the reports, individuals working within the hospital indicated that the sudden deployment of security personnel caused employees to anticipate the immediate arrival of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder.

According to the hospital sources, an official transfer might have been scheduled initially but was subsequently canceled, altered to a different medical facility, or deferred to a later schedule.
