Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday announced the launch of an artificial intelligence-based digitisation platform at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to eliminate paper-based administrative workflows and modernise public governance.

The newly introduced Prime Minister Office System aims to completely overhaul official procedures by incorporating advanced analytics to track directives from initial issuance to final implementation and verified completion.

During the launch ceremony in Islamabad, key cabinet members including Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja received comprehensive briefings regarding the system’s capabilities.

Addressing officials in attendance, the premier mandated an immediate transition to digital execution across departments. “From today onwards, I will not expect any of you in my office with a file in your hand. Everything will be discussed through this mechanism,” the prime minister said.

Authorities highlighted that the framework functions as the primary administrative portal integrating artificial intelligence directly into decision-making and performance monitoring. The software features an automated architecture capable of reading, classifying, and evaluating directives independently rather than serving as a basic digital archive.

The initiative follows recent technology milestones, including the country joining the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organisation (WAICO) as a founding member following a formal signing in Shanghai. Government planners have also committed to channeling substantial investments into domestic technology sectors to establish a future-ready digital economy.

The administration plans to expand the digital architecture across all federal ministries following the initial rollout at the center of government.
