Police in Sanghar have recovered the body of a 15-year-old girl buried inside a house within the limits of the Jhol Police Station on Thursday. Initial findings suggest the teenager was strangled to death nearly a week ago.

The incident came to light after a relative informed the authorities of his suspicions. When police reached the scene, they found the house vacated.

The victim’s parents and other relatives had fled the area before the raid.

The Station House Officer (SHO) stated that the girl may have been killed six or seven days prior to the discovery.

Police shifted the body to a hospital for a post-mortem examination to confirm the exact cause of death.

Investigating officials are currently searching for the victim’s father. His mobile phone remains switched off, and his whereabouts are unknown.

Authorities are also working to trace other family members who lived in the house.

“Efforts are underway to trace him and other family members,” officials said, noting that the motive behind the alleged murder remains unclear.

The incident has caused significant concern in the local community due to the nature of the crime and the week-long delay in reporting the death. Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the killing.
