A lawyer was found dead inside his car at the New Judicial Complex Lawyers Club parking area in Rawalpindi, with police registering a murder case and launching an investigation.
According to reports, the deceased was identified as Sanaullah Satti, who was found in the driver’s seat of his vehicle.
Police registered the case on a complaint by his brother, Barrister Sajjad Ahmed Satti.
According to the complaint, Sajjad was informed that his brother’s body had been found in the car parked outside the lawyers’ club.
He reached the scene with other lawyers and found Sanaullah lying on the driver’s seat, with white foam and blood coming from his mouth.
The complaint also cited apparent injuries on different parts of the deceased’s body, including both elbows and shoulders.
It raised the possibility that he had been given a poisonous substance before his death.
Police called in a forensic team, which collected evidence from the scene, and seized two mobile phones used by the deceased.
Investigators have also begun obtaining CCTV footage from cameras installed at Rawalpindi District Courts.
Police said call data records (CDRs), which contain details of telephone activity, would also be examined as part of the investigation.
Sanaullah, a lawyer by profession, lived with his family in Gulzar-e-Quaid, according to the complaint.
His brother said that the deceased had a daughter who was about one year old.
Police has stated that CCTV footage, call records and other evidence will be reviewed before determining the identities of those responsible and taking further legal action.
