Murree is bracing for a massive influx of tourists during the upcoming post-Eid weekend, with authorities expecting 60,000 to 70,000 vehicles to enter the hill station daily. In response to the surge in traffic, the local administration has enforced a comprehensive traffic and security plan to ensure public safety.

According to Murree DPO Dr. Raza Tanveer Sipra, over 100,000 vehicles have already been recorded in the area recently. Consequently, the Deputy Commissioner has advised tourists to avoid traveling to Murree temporarily to prevent traffic gridlocks and inconvenience.

To manage the situation, key checkpoints have been activated at Ghora Gali, Barrian, Charian, and Dewal. Additional police and traffic personnel have also been deployed at the Phulgran Toll Plaza, 17 Mile, and the Bhara Kahu Bypass entry and exit points for strict monitoring.

Furthermore, traffic regulations have been tightened at Jhika Gali, Lower Topa, Bansra Gali, Kuldana, and the Lawrence College Road T-Chowk. Extra patrolling is being carried out around Masiari and Mall Road’s GPO Chowk, with authorities directing all visitors to carry their National Identity Cards.

Joint teams consisting of District Police, Dolphin Force, and Elite Force are actively deployed at major tourist spots to maintain order. Officials confirmed that special emergency response teams are on standby to handle any unforeseen incidents during the long weekend, aiming to provide a safe, organized, and family-friendly environment.
