Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has signed Spain’s World Cup-winning forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona on a contract until 2031.
Financial details were not officially disclosed, but reports put the fee at around €50 million (£42.7 million) for the 26-year-old.
Torres arrives in the French capital fresh off scoring the extra-time winning goal for Spain in the World Cup final against Argentina on July 19. His 106th-minute strike, set up by Nico Williams following a Pedro Porro cross, secured a 1-0 win over 10-man Argentina and gave Spain their second World Cup title.
Barcelona also confirmed the transfer in an official statement, thanking Torres for his commitment over four and a half seasons and wishing him well for the next stage of his career.
The forward joined Barcelona in December 2021 from Manchester City. He leaves the club having won seven trophies, including three league titles, a Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.
Torres made 207 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 65 goals and providing seven assists. In the 2025/26 season, he shared the Zarra Trophy with teammate Lamine Yamal for finishing as the top Spanish goal scorer in La Liga with 16 goals.
Among his most memorable moments in Barcelona was his strike in the 2025 Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, which forced extra time before Jules Kounde’s late winner sealed the trophy.
Torres now reunites with Luis Enrique at PSG, having previously played under the Spaniard with the national team.
He has scored 25 goals in 65 appearances for Spain.
