May 26

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 concluded with a thriller final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, where Lahore Qalandars won their third title by defeating Quetta Gladiators in a high-scoring match.

Batting first, Quetta Gladiators posted a competitive target of 201 for 8 in their 20 overs. Lahore Qalandars, however, chased down the target with just one ball to spare, losing four wickets in process.

Records and highlights from PSL X:

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s captaincy

Lahore Qalandars won their third PSL title this year under the captaincy of Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has now become the most successful captain in PSL history. The team had previously lifted the trophy in 2022 and 2023. No other captain has won the title more than once.

Poor fielding

A record-breaking 96 catches were dropped this season, in addition to a number of misfields and missed stumping, the worst fielding performance in PSL history so far.

Muhammad Naeem’s six-hitting feat

Lahore Qalandar's young talent, Muhammad Naeem, made history by hitting six sixes in the final, becoming the first player to achieve this feat in a PSL final. He scored 47 off 27 balls, with 315 runs in 12 matches at an average of 28.63.

Lahore Qalandars’ unique achievement

Lahore Qalandars became the first team to successfully chase over 200 runs in a T20 final, not just in PSL but across all franchise leagues. In comparison, Quetta Gladiators became the only team to lose a T20 final despite scoring more than 200.

Most sixes in PSL history

PSL 10 also set a record for most sixes in a single season, with 500 sixes smashed across all matches, making it the highest in the league yet.
