Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) remains adamant about holding a protest at Minar-i-Pakistan, Lahore, today, as the Punjab government takes strict actions to counter the gathering.

Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in Lahore, Mianwali, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Attock.

It has also called nine paramilitary ranger companies in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Attock to perform duty on Saturday.

PTI leadership planned to protest in Islamabad yesterday, with the entire capital barricaded by containers; however, KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur’s caravan has yet to reach its destination at D-Chowk.

PTI has planned the protests against rising inflation, the imprisonment of its founder Imran Khan and the upcoming constitutional amendments.

As part of its strategy, PTI instructed its Lahore chapter to not participate in the Islamabad D-Chowk protest yesterday to avoid arrests and save strength for the Lahore protest.
