A theatre in Punjab has been sealed on the directives of Information and Culture Minister Azma Bukhari after a video of a young boy watching a dance performance at the venue went viral on social media.
The video showed the boy watching the performance at the theatre, then copying the vulgar dance steps, prompting action against the venue.
Following the circulation of the video, authorities sealed the theatre on Bukhari’s orders. The move comes as the Punjab government continues action against stage performances it considers inappropriate and violations of theatre regulations.
Officials said that legal and administrative proceedings have also started against the theatre over the incident.
Further proceedings are underway as authorities examine the matter under the applicable theatre regulations.
