The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency’s (NCCIA) Rawalpindi Circle has arrested a radiologist and a ward staffer from Kahuta Tehsil Headquarters Hospital on charges of harassing female patients and secretly recording videos inside the hospital.
According to media reports citing officials, an internal inquiry revealed that radiologist Shakil Ahmed and ward servant Zainul Abideen abused their positions in the radiology ward by engaging in inappropriate and unethical conduct.
Officials said that Shakil Ahmed allegedly behaved inappropriately with a female patient inside the X-ray room, while Zainul Abideen secretly recorded the incident on his mobile phone.
An analysis of the electronic devices recovered from the suspects confirmed the presence of objectionable material and their involvement in producing and sharing such content.
A case has been registered against both suspects under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA) and other relevant sections of the law.
Authorities described the incident as a grave violation of public trust, a breach of medical ethics, and a misuse of government resources.
The NCCIA stated that its investigation is still ongoing.
