At least one woman was killed and over a dozen others injured after rain and dust storms lashed Faisalabad and Jhang on Friday, bringing down walls, rooftops and solar panel stands across both cities.
In Faisalabad, accidents were reported at seven locations during the storm. A Rescue spokesperson said that walls collapsed at six of those sites, leaving 15 people injured. In the Ghaziabad area, a woman died after the roof of her house caved in.
Rescue workers pulled the injured from rubble and shifted them to nearby hospitals.
In Jhang, nine people including five women were injured as the storm tore through the city and surrounding areas. Signboards, walls, rooftops and solar panel stands came down at multiple points, injuring five people including two women.
In the outskirts of Mandi Shah Jeewna, Jhang, four people including three women were wounded when a roof collapsed at a residential house.
