Raphinha scored a hat-trick as Barcelona hammered Racing Santander 7-2 to stay unbeaten in La Liga this season.
The Brazil international has now scored 11 goals in all competitions, nine of them in the league, as Barcelona opened their title defence with six straight wins.
Hansi Flick’s side have started the campaign in outstanding form. They have scored five or more goals in five of their seven matches across all competitions, racking up 33 goals in total.
Joao Cancelo put Barcelona ahead after eight minutes with a curling effort from 20 yards at the Nou Camp. Raphinha doubled the lead midway through the first half by converting a penalty.
Maguette Gueye pulled one back for Racing, but Barcelona restored their two-goal cushion soon after. Cancelo’s long-range shot deflected in off Asier Villalibre and was credited as an own goal.
Raphinha added a low finish to make it four. He nearly completed his hat-trick before halftime too, but Lamine Yamal saw his own penalty saved by Julen Agirrezabala on the stroke of the break.
Yassir Zabiri scored Racing’s second goal in the 65th minute to cut the gap, but Barcelona won a third penalty just two minutes later. Raphinha stepped up again and slotted it home to complete his hat-trick.
Yamal then turned provider, setting up substitute Gabriel Jesus for Barcelona’s sixth goal. Yamal capped off the rout himself in the 89th minute, scoring his own goal to make it 7-2 and round out another dominant win for the Catalan side.
