A father has reportedly shot and killed his teenaged daughter after she refused to delete her TikTok account in what is being suspects to be a case of honour killing in Rawalpindi’s Dhok Chaudhryan Takht Padi area. 

 

Mehak Shahzadi, a matric student, was repeatedly asked by her father Akhlaq Ahmed to remove her TikTok profile, but she did not listen. In a fit of anger, he allegedly opened fire on her, killing her on the spot. After committing the crime, Akhlaq fled the scene.

 

A murder case was registered at Rawat Police Station on the complaint of Head Constable Shahbaz Anjum. 

 

Rawalpindi police had formed three special teams to track down the suspect. 

 

Later on Wednesday, police confirmed that Akhlaq Ahmed had been arrested and the weapon used in the murder was recovered from him. He has been moved to Rawat Police Station for further investigation.
