Demands to cancel India’s cricket matches with Bangladesh have began to gain momentum in the country.

According to Indian media, a right-wing group called Hindu Janajagruti Samiti from Goa has demanded the cancellation of the cricket series between India and Bangladesh.

The group says that atrocities being committed on Hindus in Bangladesh should lead to the cancellation of matches between India and Bangladesh. The group has written to the Indian board to cancel the matches as soon as possible.

Bangladesh and India are scheduled to play a series of two Tests and three T20 matches in Chennai, Kanpur, Gwalior, Delhi, and Indian Hyderabad.

The first test between the two teams will be played in Chennai on September 19, but fears of protests at many places may disrupt the matches.
