A private company manager was fatally shot in a robbery incident in Raiwind, Lahore, on Sunday.

Three robbers shot the victim after looting Rs 900,000 in cash, while reports suggest that one of them was allegedly killed by the firing of his accomplice during the robbery.

The victim was identified as Nadeem, who had come from Bahawalnagar to collect the money in Lahore’s Raiwind area.

The police told the media that three armed robbers intercepted the manager on the main road as he was on his way back after collecting the money. One of the robbers opened fire on Nadeem when he resisted giving up the money.

The manager suffered multiple bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

One of the robbers, later identified as Intizar, was also hit by a bullet allegedly fired by his partner in crime and died on the spot.

However, the two remaining robbers fled the scene with the looted money as people began gathering at the spot.

The police team arrived on time and cordoned off the crime scene.

A police official informed the media that the search patrols in the area have been increased to find the two remaining robbers.

The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the city morgue, and the company and the manager's relatives have been notified.

A special police team has been assigned to investigate the case with the help of Punjab Safe Cities Authority cameras to trace the culprits.

The first murder of the year was reported in Lahore when a hitman killed another man on January 1 in exchange for two Umrah tickets and a motorcycle.

As per the police, the young hitman was allegedly hired by Imtiaz, deceased Muhammad Riaz’s brother-in-law, over a property dispute.

Imtiaz allegedly hired the hitman and promised him Umrah tickets and a motorbike to kill his brother-in-law Riaz. ARY News has reported that Imtiaz had also promised Rs. 30,000 as payment along with the tickets and motorcycle.
