The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested a man in Sahiwal on suspicion of terrorism and alleged espionage for India’s external intelligence agency, according to reports by private media outlets.

CTD officials identified the suspect as Roz Ali Khan, a resident of Armar Miana in Peshawar district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Officials alleged that he was working as an operative for India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

According to the reports, the arrest was carried out during a CTD operation based on intelligence. Officials claimed the suspect was present in Koh Noor City on Faisalabad Road in Okara and was allegedly planning to target sensitive installations.

During the operation, CTD officials reportedly recovered explosive material, a Prima card, detonators, electric wire, three batteries and two mobile phones from the suspect’s possession. The seized items have been taken into custody for forensic examination as part of the investigation.

The CTD registered a case against the suspect under the relevant provisions of the law and launched further investigations to determine the nature of his alleged activities, officials said.

Authorities are also examining the suspect’s mobile phones and other recovered material to establish whether he had any accomplices or links to a wider network, according to the reports.
