Entertainment commentator Dr Ejaz Waris has claimed that actor Sajal Aly has left Geo Entertainment’s upcoming drama Lahu, which stars Hamza Ali Abbasi and Bilal Abbas Khan.
Waris shared the news in an Instagram video, saying that he could not reveal the reason. “Bringing you breaking news: Sajal Aly has left Lahu. Yes, Sajal Aly has quit Laaho, and I cannot tell you the reasons here; some things are better left unsaid,” he stated.
Waris said the Geo team is now searching for a new heroine. He named Bilal Abbas Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi as two big names already on board.
“We were very excited for Sajal [to be paired] with Shaam ki Chai—that Sajal and Bilal’s pairing couldn’t happen together in Zanjeer, they had plans together, so maybe they could do it here,” he said. “But, but it seems destiny had something else in store.”
Waris also said casting can change before a drama starts filming. “Always, if you notice, if you remember, I always say that until dramas go on the floor [shooting], any changes can happen,” he said. He also claimed Sajal left Laila Majnu for Lahu and has now left Lahu too. “First Sajal left Laila Majnu for Lahu, and now she has left Lahu as well, so what is Sajal going to do now, buddy,” he asked.
Waris said viewers keep asking him who will play opposite Bilal. “We will find out in a few days, but for now, Sajal has said goodbye to Laaho,” he said.
Local media had earlier reported that Sajal and Bilal would reunite on screen for a new Geo drama. Lahu was due to mark their fourth on-screen collaboration.
Sajal and Bilal last appeared together in the 2021 film Khel Khel Mein. Sajal and Hamza Ali Abbasi starred together in Geo’s 2019 drama Alif.
