Singer Sajjad Ali has reacted to a fan who claimed that nobody has roasted an ex-partner in a song better than he did, revisiting lyrics that continue to resonate with listeners decades later.

Ali shared a video on Instagram featuring text that read, “Someone said it has been 30 years and no one roasted their ex like I did.”

“People are getting really creative with these trends 😅😅,” the singer wrote in the caption.

The clip features lyrics from his song, “Jaan-e-jaan, maut nahin, sharam to aati hogi. Yaad to aati hogi, dil dukhati hogi [My beloved, if not death, you must at least feel ashamed. The memories must return, and they must hurt you].”
