Salman Khan will miss the upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 20, with filmmaker Rohit Shetty set to replace him as host.
Earlier Indian media reports linked the change to security concerns after actor Tiger Shroff was shot at while leaving a football match.
However, Salman addressed his absence during the latest episode and cited a prior professional commitment as the reason for missing the show.
He did not confirm that security concerns had influenced the decision.
Rohit Shetty, known for hosting Khatron Ke Khiladi, will take over hosting duties for the upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar episode. The change comes as contestants continue to face confrontations and questions about their behaviour inside the Bigg Boss house.
The October 17 and 18 episodes saw Aman Gandhi eliminated from the competition. He was among the bottom three contestants alongside Uditi Singh and Mary Kom before Salman announced his exit.
Aman had landed in the bottom three for the second consecutive week. He had also previously lost a lifeline during a week when no contestant faced elimination.
His departure left his friend Arishfa emotional, with the contestant breaking down after the announcement.
