The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will issue a Rs75 commemorative coin to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, with the coin set to go on sale from May 25 through exchange counters at field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation.
Pakistan and China established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951.
According to a press release issued Thursday, the coin is round with serrated edges, made of 75 per cent copper and 25pc nickel, measures 36mm in diameter and weighs 19 grams.
The obverse side carries the waxing crescent moon and five-pointed star in the rising position at the centre, with the words “Islami Jamhuria Pakistan” inscribed along the periphery.
Below the crescent, two sprigs of wheat curve upward, with the year of issuance 2026 printed above them. The number “75” and the word “rupiah” appear on the right and left sides of the crescent star respectively.
On the reverse, the words “75th Anniversary of Pakistan and China Diplomatic Relations” run along the upper periphery, while “trust, friendship and support” is inscribed along the lower edge.
The flags of both countries feature at the centre, with the number “75” below them and the years “1951” and “2026” on either side. The phrase “Pak Cheen Sifarati Tauluqat Kay 75 Saal” appears in Urdu and Chinese above both flags, while “eitamad-dosti-mu’awanat” is written in both languages below the central number.
