Security forces kill five terrorists, including key commander, in Balochistan operation

Security forces have killed five terrorists, among them a senior commander, during an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) conducted in the Sarkini and Chedgi area of Panjgur, Balochistan, Radio Pakistan reported on Monday.

Officials confirmed that the raid targeted operatives of Fitna al-Hindustan and formed part of the broader Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3 underway in the province.

“According to security sources, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation against Fitna al Hindustan terrorists in Sarkani and Chedgi areas of Panjgur, killing five terrorists, including a key Fitna al Hindustan commander, Wazir,” the broadcaster stated.

Weapons seized from the site included four motorcycles along with machine guns, heavy arms and ammunition. Authorities linked the slain terrorists to a string of criminal activity in the district, including robbery, extortion, kidnapping and assaults on traders and local residents.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the troops involved, telling state-run APP (Associated Press of Pakistan) that their professionalism and capability had disrupted the group’s plans and delivered a significant setback to terrorist activity in the area.

He described the raid as evidence of the forces’ readiness and sustained resolve against terrorism, adding that removing such elements was critical to bringing durable peace to Balochistan and the wider country. Naqvi reaffirmed that both the state and citizens stood behind the security forces in dismantling terrorist networks nationwide.

The operation comes a day after when security forces killed 15 terrorists across several districts, including Mastung, Bolan, Washuk, Awaran, Sibi, Khuzdar, Harnai and Nushki, also under the Radd-ul-Fitna-3 umbrella, state media reported.

Last month, security forces and law enforcement personnel jointly launched Operation Shaban in Balochistan in retaliation for a deadly attack on a police post at the Mangi Dam pumping station in Ziarat on July 6 when armed attackers kidnapped and killed 27 police officers.
