Security forces have killed nine Indian sponsored Khwarij in three separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province in the last two days, Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement issued on Sunday.

“An intelligence-based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in Dera Ismail Khan District, on the reported presence of Indian sponsored Khwarij. During the operation, Pakistani troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location, and after an intense fire exchange, four Indian sponsored khwarij were sent to hell,” said the military’s media wing.

The ISPR further detailed that another intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Tank District, and in the ensuing fire exchange, security forces sent another two Indian sponsored Khwarij to hell.

In the third encounter that took place in the general area of Bagh, Khyber District, troops successfully neutralised three more Khwarij.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists, who had been actively involved in terrorist activities in these areas.

Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate remaining terrorists in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country, said the ISPR.

Pakistan has witnessed a sharp spike in terror incidents since the fall of Kabul in August 2021, particularly in the border provinces of KP and Balochistan.

However, the first quarter of 2025 saw promising trends in the security landscape of Pakistan, with the fatalities of militants and insurgents outnumbering the cumulative losses of civilians and security forces personnel.

Separately, the death toll in the Khuzdar bus blast near Zero Point rose to eight after two more female students succumbed to their injuries in a hospital on Sunday.

Media reports quoted security sources as claiming that two students, Shema Ibrahim and Muskan, died at the hospital after fighting for their life for four days.

Media reports stated that the explosion has claimed the lives of eight students, including seven females and one male student.

On May 21, at least five people, including three female students, were killed on the spot and 43 others wounded in the attack on a school bus near Zero Point in Khuzdar on the Quetta-Karachi highway when it was on students at the Army Public School (APS) in Khuzdar Cantonment.
