More than nine terrorists have been killed in separate security operations across Balochistan, with forces targeting terrorist hideouts in Ziarat, Harnai and Soorab, security officials said on Tuesday.
The main operation was conducted in the mountainous area between Ziarat and Harnai after security forces received intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
Eight were killed after troops surrounded and destroyed their hideout, the officials said.
A separate raid in Hajika village in Soorab district resulted in the killing of another terrorist after security forces tracked militant movement between Dasht Katai and Hajika.
Ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, walkie-talkies, a motorcycle and other equipment were recovered during the operations, the officials said.
They added that the campaign would continue until terrorism was eliminated and lasting peace established.
The operations were carried out under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces and said action against groups Fitna-al-Hindustan and Fitna-al-Khawarij would continue.
“The interior minister commended the professional capabilities of the security forces for sending more than nine terrorists of Fitna-al-Hindustan to hell,” the Interior Ministry said in a statement posted on X.
The latest operations follow several security actions in the province. On Monday, two terrorists were killed and three wounded during an intelligence-based operation in Killi Zaik.
Seven others were killed a day earlier in an operation in Kharan district.
On Saturday, security forces killed 10 terrorists and wounded several others in the Shor Pard area of Khuzdar.
